Rylan Joenk
Program B:
Fri, May 2 - 7 PM
Sun, May 4 - 4 PM & 7 PM
A thrower of parties both on and off stage, heavily influenced by social dance and the human impulse to move, Rylan Joenk is dedicated to creating work that dissects and challenges expectations of contemporary dance. By experimenting with theatricality and improvisation to explore collective justice and personal identity, Rylan's work exists at the intersection of camp, kitsch, and fervent sincerity. Before receiving a BFA in dance from NYU Tisch, Rylan performed works by Dana Ruttenberg, José Limón, and many peers, finding their greatest passion in collaboration and play. Rylan is currently in residence with WADE Dance, developing a new work for the 2025 Pride Residency.
